Every Sunday, Vir writes more nonsense on the HT editorial "counterpoint". This time around he vomited on the
Sania marriage issue starting off by saying that its a non-issue but going on to make the same mistakes that media and media savvy people make. He announced his stand in the beginning itself that he cares not of whom Sania marries. Fair enough. But then, he doesn't stop at fair as he never does in his articles.
He accuses the so-called "Hindutva" stand by reading more into it. I'd say that some right wing bodies have expressed their sentiment being hurt. At least VHP did just that. There isn't anything wrong, I feel, in saying that some of us Indians are upset that an Indian is marrying a Pakistani. Be it a Hindu, a muslim, or whoever. We all know that Indians are not happy with people inhabiting their western border. To that effect, sports ties have long been broken. So its natural to be hurt when an Indian is marrying a Paki and people are expressing opinions is all. Now as much as Sania's marriage is private domain, a non-issue and not to be read into, people opinions of a public domain figure should also be private individual opinion, a non-issue and not to be read into.
However, Vir reads some hidden agenda in those stands and puts together everyone who has disapproved of the marriage to say that they are Hindu (giving a religious tag when it is clearly not) extremists. And such extremism, to Vir's f*d up interpretation of the Shivsena or whatever others' stand is, means that all Indian muslims are traitors and Pakistan lovers! WTF?
No one said that, no one means that. Its utter bullsh* and Vir should know better than that being thought of as a matured journalist.Labels: India, politics, sania, wtf
Today morning I opened up the Mint Lounge to an article that starts with Sonia Gandhi's bogus resume, moves to Nehru family's failures in education but ends up with all the wrong questions to make an erroneous conclusion. Read that nonsense by Aakar Patel with a befitting title
The catholicity of Sonia.
As a comment on Sonia's keeping her Italian citizenship, the author puts a ridiculous question: how many Indians would keep their Indian citizenship when offered European? The right Q would have been: how many Indians in such a powerful position in a foreign country be allowed to keep Indian citizenship? The author seems he has a point when he says that she always refers to opponents with "the oblique unko or unhonein". A kid is referred to as aap in Madhya Pradesh, but whats that got to do with anything? The right Q would lead to a finding that Italian gestures continue when she speaks Italian. Aakar easily forgets the past when he credits Sonia of "smuggling" Manmohan into the cabinet. The right Q to ask would be what happened inside the room where Sonia and Manmohan met the President of India the first time (after which Sonia changed her earlier stance, giving up the hope of being India's PM, and announced that she never wanted to have that position)? Another right Q to ask would be how was Manmohan chosen? The kind of arbitrary add-on parties that joined hands to form the govt back then, with each party having their own PM candidate and not agreeing to any other party's representation had a good compromise of Manmohan. And a compromise is what it is, not something "(intellectually) smuggled" by anyone to anywhere! Stop giving credit where it ain't due. Yet another wrong that Aakar leads us to believe is that Sonia keeps her calm without changing her tone. She doesn't know enough language to yell, neither English nor Hindi! So does Manmohan maintain his cool; its political composure and there are tons of politicians who can do it.
Rahul seems educated to the author, who hasn't done enough research to add him to the Nehru family's list of failures in education. Suffice it to say that Rahul's magna cum laude performance is not a Latin phrase. ;) And what does Amartya Sen's certificate to Rahul's mother on his talent mean? It somehow means that since Rahul couldn't graduate out of his colleges, the credit his "impression of talent" on Amartya must go to Sonia, Rahul's widowed mother. Utterly ridiculous. I have begun to doubt Amartya's talent to assess talent now.
The author seems to have confused himself into believing that Sonia is a proof of European ability and thinks it proper to jump to suggesting Ratan Tata's replacement to be a European, Indian cricket team's European coaches and European "protestant" male (whatever the f* that means) building wealthy, uncorrupt, equal, secular, liberal nations. There is enough proof of these countries being corrupt when formed, why-- their being formed is a result of corrupt minds in the first place, with someone else's stolen wealth! And with this rubbish running in the background, the fella concludes thus: that a half literate "catholic" woman has undone the self-inflicted damage of ours! This is so stupid that I don't even want to defend here, and if do I cannot do so without being brutally verbose. Any takers?

I get scared to reserve tickets these days, because the word
reservation has lost meaning to me. It has changed meaning from "a planned journey in future" to "a f*cked up future".
India has so many reservations now starting from SC/ ST, through OBC, to minority community and now newly added women. There is no worse way of raping a country than giving freebies to undeserving candidates. When picking on merit loses ground, there is no merit in the cause. On the one hand, the Indian govt is spending on education, and on the other they are ensuring that India remains a backward country. And there's more effort on the latter than the former. Anyone who has traveled in the Mumbai trains knows what I talk of when I say that there are ladies trains and ladies compartments in all trains, but there are some women that not only travel in overcrowded men's compartments but expect a free seat! This is exactly what this women's reservation bill is like.
Any intelligent woman would refuse a reservation seat the same way that I would like to be appraised from my manager of my talent than anything else. Reservation today truly means that you're way-way below par. None of these b*stards in favour of the reservation system for SC/ST education has conducted any research on how many of those idiots getting into IIT on reservation even pass out. Look there, there lies the answer, you morons! Also none of these double-standard political wh*res get their medical treatments from reservation passouts. I suggest a bill be passed that mandates all politicians to get treated from such below par doctors; taste your own f*king medication.
Unfortunately, this historically great country India has, under the garb of secularism, managed to flush all valid systems to create only two castes:
general (read brahmins around 3% in KA, for example) which is supposed to be a majority and
reserved(read SC/STs, OBCs, muslims, christians, women) which is called as minority! More and more majorities get added into minorities every year, and every such beggar wants to steal away a deserving candidate's seat, be it from education or politics. We know there are more than a bunch of people who want to be part of minorities just for the several free lunches that mother India is forced to offer; I just hope men don't become women to get into assemblies and parliament now!

Inspired by my scientific, proud, Hindu, Indian (SPHI) and anonymous friend at
Unscientific India, I started this blog where I intend to yell out at the top of my voice on topics that deserve being yelled about. While I was searching names for this blog, all were taken. My last empty-slot hunt on blogger was fromthegut, which on chat with SPHI led to this thegutfeel.
Enough bullshit, lets go about kickstarting this blog... I also intend to follow SPHI's last guideline "don't be a pussy" :D
